Brașov, in the National Geographic top 25 best places to visit in 2025
'The medieval city of Brașov is the gateway to the region of Transylvania, a land of ancient forests, rustic villages, and the mountain peaks of the Carpathians. With its new airport—the first in Romania in the last 50 years—the land of Dracula is more accessible than ever. Explore the region along the Via Transilvanica trail, a hiking route completed in 2022, stretching 1,400 kilometers from the border with Ukraine to the Danube.
The Terra Saxonum section of the trail passes through Saxon villages and the 12th-century city of Sighișoara, a UNESCO World Heritage site, while the Terra Dacica section winds through vineyards and Dacian fortresses,' the text states.
The U.S. Embassy in Bucharest also commented on this topic.
