It's official! The famous and beloved mountain resort Poiana Brașov will be accessible any time of the year and you will have fun activities to do, not only in winter. Why? Because a summer toboggan will be built here.

The mayor of Brașov has announced that the plan is more than just a thought, as the public tender has been launched. The summer toboggan is thus an important step in transforming Poiana Brașov into a resort for all seasons.

What do we know about the project now?

• The installation will have a length of 550 meters for the ascent part and 990 meters for the descent route. It will include 60 toboggans;
• The descent route will have 5 spirals with a diameter of about 18-20 meters;
• It targets the family recreation area;
• The construction will not take long, only 14 months - of which 5 for planning and 9 for the actual execution.

"Even though there are similar recreational facilities in the country, we have conceived a project with a complex route, with several return spirals, elevated areas, within the natural setting offered by Poiana Brașov. All this to offer the people of Brașov and tourists an unforgettable experience," said Mayor Allen Coliban.

Currently, in Poiana Brașov, there are mountain bike and hiking trails, in addition to ski and toboggan slopes, which only open when it snows or is cold enough to start the snow machines.
